Fantastic experience: I could not be happier with this school. Exceptional teachers and facilities. Communication and transparency are great. My daughter is motivated, engaged and has improved her grades significantly. The best school in the area. Double excellence from Ofsted. Well deserved.

Fantastic experience: Great Values, Great Teachers & Great Facilities The broad, multi-cultural and inclusive character of the school gives each pupil the opportunity to make choices and to participate, and to develop as a unique individual: to “let their lives speak”.

Fantastic experience: My daughter attended Leighton Park From Year 8 to Year 11. She had an absolutely fantastic experience, and they gave her the most fantastic support with her dyslexia. She came as a young person with incredibly low self esteem due to her additional needs but left with enormous confidence, pride and 7 level 9 GCSEs, 2 level 8s an A* and a distinction* in a BTEC. She is now studying 4 A levels at college and is on a program to apply for Oxbridge and is seriously considering a career in politics. None of this would have been possible without the care and attention She received at LP. Their Individual Learning Centre where help is given to students with specific learning difficulties is top notch. Even more important than the qualifications is the sense of community and responsibility that my daughter learnt whilst there. All of the teachers genuinely care. We were so grateful when Covid hit, with how swiftly they put in to action on the line learning . She was Year 10 and taught every day. The pastoral care shines at this place. If you are considering Leighton Park for your son or daughter, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Leighton Park School

Dear Andrea, thank you so much for this heartwarming review and your kind words about the learning environment at LP. It is wonderful to hear about Charlie's aspirations to go into politics and we wish her every success with her Oxbridge applications.

Positive experience: The main benefit of Leighton Park is the smaller class sizes. Some of the teachers really do care about the kids but I don't get the sense it's radically different to any state school. When it comes down to it, Leighton Park is a business and all pastoral care is trumped by the accounts department who will quote the notice period in the contract at you if you decide things aren't working for you and insist you pay the existing term and for an extra term, even if you cancel near the start of a term. My son was previously at sixth form at Maiden Erlegh, but switched to Leighton Park due to COVID, and in his experience the quality of the Maths department was higher there. The downside, in his opinion, was the number of students. If you remember the Friends episode where they tried to quit the gym, that's what enrolling in Leighton Park is like. Unfortunately we enrolled so we have to see it through now but it was probably a mistake. Money doesn't guarantee you'll get the best education.

Leighton Park School

Dear Adam, thank you for your time on the phone today. Thank you also for clarifying that it was our optional learning support provision that you wished to withdraw from rather than the School itself. Our terms and conditions do require a full term’s notice for this but please do document your concerns by emailing [email protected], providing more information on any mitigating circumstances. We will then review this with relevant colleagues.

Fantastic experience: My brothers and I all attended Leighton Park. It was not a wholly wonderful experience, and I was a lazy student, preferring to enjoy the park land the school was in, the sport and the friendships. But I met some incredible teachers, was touched by the Quaker ethic, and believe that the school gave me an important foundation on which my life has grown and developed. What I am particularly amazed by is the close friendships that formed at the school and which I still enjoy and value to this day.

Leighton Park School

Thank you for sharing your memories Jonathan. The Park certainly is beautiful and it is wonderful to hear that your school friendships continue to this day. I'm sorry that you feel you were a lazy student. The School has high expectations of students these days, within a supportive and caring environment - as demonstrated by our Sixth Form leavers achieving the best academic progress in Berkshire. You would be very welcome to come back and visit and see what the school is like today.

Fantastic experience: Currently teaching here

Negative experience: The school told me to cancel the offer the day after my son got the visa. At the same time, in order to apply for this school, we cancelled the foreign school. This decision of the school caused my two sons to face the problem of being out of school. We contact the school through the service agency and write to the school ourselves. Unfortunately, the school insisted on its decision. I may not say everything, but in my opinion, the school's attitude towards me is arrogant and unfriendly. I hope the school will examine its own work procedures while reflecting on itself.

Leighton Park School

Dear Richard, I am very sorry that Leighton Park had to withdraw your boys' offers to study here and the inconvenience that this has caused your family. Your boys had been offered a place to start in Year 7 and 8 respectively in September 2020 to give them a chance to improve their level of English. Due to factors out of your control and ours, your boys were not able to take up their places. We initially agreed to a delay in the boys starting date but took the difficult decision to withdraw their offers when they still had not been able to join by the Summer Term. We wish you and your family the very best for the future.

Positive experience: Leighton Park School is an amazing senior school in the heart of Reading. Respect between staff and students is key to the positive, supportive atmosphere where individuals can flourish. Thank you for your positive review. We always want to improve as a school, so please let a member of the leadership team know if there are ways we can make the LP experience better.

Fantastic experience: I attended Leighton Park from about 1966-71. I had a happy and fulfilling time here, and left with fond memories. I was in Reckitt House which I'm sad to see has gone.
