Fantastic experience: Connected us with a fantastic local Spanish teacher quickly! Super happy with the service - they took the time to find out exactly what we were looking for, and all communications were prompt and helpful. Teacher had tons of experience, planned lessons thoroughly and provided age-appropriate lessons for our daughter. It’s pricey but the service is valuable and worth it.

Negative experience: This company operates with a shocking lack of professionalism. My mother completed a taster Spanish lesson, investing her time and travel expenses based on their promise of a payment, yet they have failed to follow through. After two weeks of chasing, they still haven’t resolved this. Such disregard for people’s time and commitment is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their integrity. I would caution anyone considering working with them.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner have been taking lessons through Chris Polatch for around 18 months now and we find them to be both professional and friendly. Clare has been very helpful and is always quick to answer any emails. Our tutor Paty, is amazing. She makes each lesson interesting and fun with just the right amount of difficultly to progress quickly without feeling overwhelmed. As a result, we have both just passed our international GCSE with a grade 8 and are extremely happy. I would 100% recommend both Paty and Chris Polatch Language School for anyone looking to learn Spanish.

Fantastic experience: When we arrived in the UK with our children, we really needed help for them to learn English. Their teacher was very committed and helpful. I then worked with Helen. She is a star. I quickly found myself confident enought to meet people and a few months later I passed the IELTS, thanks to her ! I really recommend Chris Polatch Language Courses.

Fantastic experience: I relocated back to the UK and really struggled to find a Mandarin tutor for my daughter until I came across Chris Polatch Language Courses. They were so helpful and supportive and found me the most brilliant teacher who we have been with for the past two years tutoring my daughter through her GCSE. I cannot recommend the service I received more highly and would not hesitate to use them again.

Fantastic experience: I have been learning Italian for 3/4 years using one of the Chris Polatch experienced coaches. I began during Covid and had lessons virtually and then proceeded to a mix of virtual and face to face. My teacher was both very disciplined and professional but also endlessly patient and imaginative in helping me through the inevitable highs and lows of learning a new language as a more senior learner. Thanks to the Chris Polatch lessons I am now at a level to engage meaningly in Italy and with Italians!

Fantastic experience: They offer a professional and personal service. From the first contact they were working to fulfill my needs. I had many lessons with one of their professors, they have a very good online platform for the payments and keep track on the lessons, and they were always asking if everything was ok, and giving feedback. It is a very nice experience that I recommend 100%.

Fantastic experience: I just had my last french lesson with Lucille. She is a really good teacher, she has a great understanding of the language and how to teach it. She is also really kind and empathetic so I feel I can just “try it out” with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone. We are making our move to France this week so I won’t be continuing with the lessons ( I would love to but I really like doing them in person). Hopefully I can find another teacher as good as her, but I doubt it! Many thanks for finding her for me. I have loved it.

Negative experience: I would rather give zero stars if there was an option, I am disappointed in the Nottingham service, a lady called Clare responded to my enquiry in a rude and ignorant manner, the response I got was short and bitter, she made the assumption that I couldn't afford the prices just because I told her that I'm not in employment, but I was just trying to ask if the price covers just one hour alone or if it covers all the hours of the day in total?, that was all, but I reckon she probably ment that £39 is paid for every one separate hour and does not cover all the hours per day, hence why her response after this telling me that "I'm sorry but the prices are fixed, we cannot offer our service to you, you need to look elsewhere" she said this on purpose without taking the time to read proper what I was actually asking, these people just like to look down on low class people who are not in employment and £39 just for one hour on its own is a rip off, not everyone is a fast paced learner and not everyone can remember everything automatically in just one hour, it would make fair sense if £39 covered 3 hours for each day, but instead they will charge you £39 for 1 hour per day, if you have Autism, ADHD or Mental Health problems etc (unfortunately I have all of them), I would not recommend this service if you're a slow learner, they will take advantage of you, as they will be quick to grab your money and will rush you through the lesson, services that provide short and ignorant responses are usually the services that won't support you but instead will look down on you, rush you and belittle you, if you want to learn a language then Duolingo is your best bet at this rate, since they make the service they provide fairly matched with the prices they charge and they are an app not a human being.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend more highly. Clare took the time to understand my son’s requirements and he had trials with two tutors before deciding which suited him better. Clare has continued to be a reassuring presence in the background throughout. I hesitate to publicise how fantastic Dorothee is as a French tutor for fear that we will never get her back! My son’s French improved dramatically as a result of Dorothee’s focused, highly organised and professional tutoring during lockdown. My concerns that he would lose the ability to converse in French as a result of online work have been allayed. She is a superb teacher.

Positive experience: Good communication and customer service. They found me a local conversation based Portuguese teacher quickly with block hours who came to my house weekly. If you need to prepare for a specific exam, specify that from the outset and they will help you find the right teacher. Classes transferred online to Zoom easily when COVID-19 started

Fantastic experience: My experience as a teacher at Chris Polatch is very positive. I love teaching languages and their system allows me have direct contact with the students with flexibility allowed when needed for the students and very satisfactory results. This last season with the only option of online lessons, it worked exceptionally well for both my student and me who could enjoy the easy use of the online tools and not having to deal with commuting, but having our lessons comfortably from our homes, at the most convenient time for the student. Fantastic experience: I absolutely adore my french tuition with Angèle! She is both patient, and also pushes me to reach a level of confidence I had not unlocked before with speaking french. The one thing I really appreciate is how our lessons have evolved, based on how I learn/absorb the language the best. Fantastic experience: Thanks to Chris Polatch Language Courses I was able to start learning French at times which suited me, with a French teacher who tuned in to my needs and provided the style of teaching which met my language ability. I started with no knowledge and in one academic year I reached level A1/A2 where I was able to express myself with confidence, both in speech and writing.
