Fantastic experience: Such an amazing multicultural experience at Alba English school !!!! I can't even explain how I have improved my English in only 2 months. When I arrived I had 2 objectives : improve my general English and pass my toeic exam. Today, I can say I have reached these two goals thanks to all my teachers ( Rachel, Kip, Steven, Dave, Charlie, Calum, Roxana, Melanie). So, I would like to say thank you for all and a special thank you to Rachel and Kip for these long hours of 1 to 1. But, Alba English school is not only a school it's also a life experience where you can meet people from all around the world. So, thanks to Régis for the organisation of the different social events and to Laura for your welcome and coordination of everything.

Fantastic experience: S’il m’était demandé de résumer en un mot mon expérience de 3 mois à Alba, je dirais: “Perfection!” Je n’ai jamais trouvé auparavant de meilleure école de langue (car ça n’est pas ma première) qui soit aussi parfaite à tous les aspects. Alba a des professeurs très pros et très qualifiés, attentifs aux élèves, soucieux de leur progression, prêts à aider bien plus que prévu, abordables et très attachants ! L’enseignement y est donc au top ! Je m’y suis rendue pour me préparer à l’examen du Cambridge CAE, et sans ces 3 mois à l’école, je n’aurais jamais été en mesure de me présenter à l’examen, et encore moins à la formation CELTA que je m'apprête à commencer. Ils m’y ont si bien préparée, et m’ont même aidée pour ma future formation. Alba est bien plus que cela; c’est aussi des cours réellement efficaces et interactifs, un staff incroyable, une école très plaisante, un environnement agréable, des activités intéressantes et amusantes…sans oublier le thé/café et les gâteaux gratuits pour les gourmands! Vous ne regretterez pas votre choix en vous inscrivant à Alba, et même, l’école vous manquera durant les weekends. Partir fut un réel déchirement.

Fantastic experience: La meilleure école pour apprendre ou améliorer son anglais à Edinburgh sans aucun doute! Les professeurs sont professionnels, pédagogues et t’aident à atteindre tes objectifs. Les cours se passent dans une bonne ambiance et les sujets abordés sont toujours intéressants. Les activités après les cours sont un bon moyen de pratiquer l’anglais en dehors de l’école, de découvrir la merveilleuse ville d’Edinburgh et de te faire de vrais amis venant des quatre coins du monde. Fantastic experience: I am really glad to study English with Alba school. Previous I had have a group studying experience, so the Alba group format was new for me. I really enjoy being surrounded by professional and experienced teachers team who make lessons not only full of practical and useful knowledge that boost a language learning progression, but entertaining and exiting classes which up the confidence. Fantastic experience: I spent 4 weeks in Alba School. The teachers all of them nice and teaching is good. They are warm and comfort, it’s easy to get on with them. They applied techniques and strategies to improve my skills and they have good staff always orginze activitys during the week. I’m happy being one of them and I have another weeks to finish my course, I believe I will learn more and more.

Laura, from the exchange of emails to my registration, was super attentive. Teachers use didactics according to the student and this helps a lot in learning. The classes are super dynamic, I was in General English. Every day was a different topic to talk, but all the time you speak about the pronunciation, the context, the examples. La llevas clara. ¿he mentido cuando afirmo que no tenéis ni una sola recomendación de ninguna institución oficial? ¿Es falso que utilizáis los meetups, en teoría reuniones sin animo de lucro para promocionar el colegio? ¿Es falso que el blog Vivir en Edimburgo os promociona porque les regalasteis un curso de inglés para su rifa de aniversario y solo por eso? ¿O prefieres que escriba de "vuestro sistema" de comprar horas semanales y que la "famosa" flexibilidad se olvida cuando las pierdes por no hacerlas dentro de la semana?

The teachers organise and conduct the lessons in a varied and lively manner, and they are always friendly and helpful. We often have discussions with members of our class on many different topics. Fantastic experience: Alba School has been fantastic to improve my English. Working in communications I am expected to deliver a high level of verbal proficiency. I joined the CPE course about a year ago with not aim of sitting the exam but just to polish my use of English. As a result, I have gained not only more vocabulary (idioms and phrasal verbs) but most importantly, I have learnt outstanding presentation skills, and now I feel more confident and more articulated when I need to pitch in front of an audience. Alba is more than a school. Teachers are really committed to their work and they will go the extra-mile for you when you most needed. I have met different classmates who sat the CPE exam and scored high marks (after working hard). Jenny McLay and Sue Cormack are relentless, and amazing teachers. The monthly digital newspaper that I am organizing, Cosmopolita Scotland, could not exist without their enormous support and wise advice.

Fantastic experience: Alba English school is now in it's second year and I can personally recommend it based on my experiences with the management and staff. Location is easily accessible as it is in the heart of Newington which is served by many buses and also lies between the University of Edinburgh's George Square and King's Building's campuses. They have a really great fee structure which offers quite a bit of flexibility for their students so it should be possible to find something that suits you and your lifestyle!

Fantastic experience: This is the only English languge school I found in Edinburgh to prepare my Proficiency exam. The price is affordable and the three teachers I've had lessons with are excellent. Lessons are entertaining and very personal. I strongly recommend Alba to learn English in this city.
