Fantastic experience: We have to echo the many positive reviews online about Maria's work. She has a wonderful, patient manner and builds her tutoring around the individual's needs be they for examinations or the sheer joy of being able to speak Portuguese and tries so hard to fit in with the time you have available for learning. She is rightly keen on making sure you understand the foundations of the language not just a few tourist phrases and her recommendations for learning aids including up to date books is spot on. Can't recommend her highly enough

Fantastic experience: We reached out to Maria only a few months before my daughter was due to take her GCSE Portuguese . And although it is not her standard way of working , she accommodated our request and accepted to tutor my daughter . Her lessons were well structured, and we found that Maria’s support was fundamental to my daughter’s confidence in the language. We’d struggled in the past to find a Portuguese tutor that knew the language and knew the exam. Maria is very knowledgeable in both and guided my daughter in such a way that there were no surprises . Very much recommend Maria.

She has been a fantastic support to his education and helped him retain his Portuguese heritage as I do not speak the language. Fantastic experience: Maria is a passionate native speaker teacher. She is very knowledgeable, her lessons are well prepared and Maria adapts her teaching methods according to the student's needs. Maria is helpful, friendly and fun. My YA daughter loved the lesson and plans to resume tha as soon as her exams are over. Maria is also very professional and competent teacher.

Fantastic experience: Our son started Portuguese lessons with Maria when he was 7 years old. We have now been with Maria for 2 years, and one thing our son, now 9, never complains about is having to do his lessons with her. Fantastic experience: Maria is brilliant and ever so patient! She is extremely flexible and happily works around my inconsistent availability. She tailors the way she teaches to individual needs and always has a smile on her face, even if I'm struggling...Portuguese is hard! I now have confidence to speak basic Portuguese with my partner's family (who don't speak any English) and I can certainly understand much more. I hope to continue to learn and improve.

Fantastic experience: Maria is great, a hard task master but she makes the lessons fun and we laugh a lot. She is very flexible scheduling lessons around work which I need sometimes. She’s very knowledgeable and helped to make learning easier for me using different techniques. She is also a Portuguese native, fluent in English having lived in the UK for many years. Because of this, she is able to teach you how to make the Portuguese specific sounds. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: With there being very few places around teaching European Portuguese, I was delighted to find Maria. I have been learning with Maria for a couple of years now and I thoroughly enjoy our classes. As well as learning the words, structures ect, Maria is very good at teaching the pronunciation which is so hard especially when learning as an adult! Fantastic experience: I am taking lessons in Portuguese to help speaking with my girlfriend's family. Maria's lessons are incredibly engaging and she structure's them according to your previous Portuguese experience. I do not live in Reading but she is very flexible arranging lessons both in Reading and via Skype and at various times into the evening and on Saturdays. I cannot recommend Maria highly enough.

Fantastic experience: As a Portuguese immigrant living in England, I wanted my young daughter to be able to read and speak both English and Portuguese. I enrolled My daughter in these lessons just over a year ago, and what a difference it has made! The lessons have made a huge difference and my daughter can now speak it much more fluently than ever before, and is now even starting to read books that are in Portuguese. I am very pleased with the progress so far and I highly recommend her lessons.

Fantastic experience: I'd been looking for Portuguese tuition for only a short while when I found Maria and the Portuguese Language Club. We've only had one session so far and I'm already very impressed with Maria's approach to language teaching - she's very thorough and professional and uses a properly configured language lab in her home office. I'm looking forward to practicing my Portuguese next time I'm in Madeira - in February 2020.
