Fantastic experience: I learned to teach English as a foreign language here. What an experience. Kate, the proprietor, knows every student by name, she teaches English, does the admin, arranges socials and makes sure that all feel welcome and at home. The people who teach the teachers are brilliant, and brought me to a valued Cambridge qualification. Not easy, but I feel that I couldn’t have achieved this at any other establishment. Positive experience: The English Language Centre in the city is one of the available centers where you can learn English. The price of the course is acceptable. Speaking clubs by levels are additionally conducted with the students of the courses. The staff and teachers are very polite. There are very few language centers in the city of Reading. This center is very useful for people who want to learn English.

I have took presencial lessons in this academy for 6 months and one year an a half via online due to Covid-19. Fantastic experience: I attended the ELC in Reading after spending more than thirty years without practicing the English language. However, from the first moment the entire school’s team made me feel very comfortable and I could break free almost immediately. Thanks to the entire team, I was able to pass the Cambridge exams and I also gained a great deal of confidence. Fantastic experience: There are knowledgeable, enthusiastic teachers, who do care about our progress and follow our success thoroughly, changing methods and level of teaching in accordance with someone's needs and capabilities. It is pretty challenging teaching students, who are so different in many ways. As my classmate said last Thursday, "I feel so good every time I come to school." I agree with her. ☺️ I feel like part of an international family when I come here to study English. There is a conversation course that costs only £2. Which is very helpful to get started. Kate, Maria and other teachers are very helpful. I can stay after class to practise more. I get all the information I need to prepare for the Cambridge exam. We celebrate holidays together. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: My name is Juan and I come from the Canary Islands. I contacted first with the centre in 1993, as I was planning to stay in Reading a whole year to improve my English and to get one of the Cambridge certificates. I wanted their help for my purposes and got it. I had to work hard and was able to get both the First Certificate and the Proficiency one. I am still trying to improve my English and whenever I return to Reading, I join the school, not only to keep my language skills but also to associate with the students and teachers at the centre and to enjoy their friendly company.

Fantastic experience: I did my CELTA course in this language school during which I learnt so many good techniques and methods with regards to how best to engage the learners in my class as well as the order I should follow when teaching different types of lessons. Fantastic experience: I prepared and passed all my Cambridge exams here. Beginning with the First exam and ending with the Proficiency. If you want to study and improve your English to a native level, this is the place to go!!. Location is very convenient and they have a wide range of hours during the day so if you work in the morning you can attend lessons in the evening. Special mention to all the teachers I have had the pleasure to meet over my years as a student : Jonathan, Katrin, Kate...just to mention a few. They are all dedicated professionals who will help you in every single aspect of the language, be it extra homework, exams, websites, books, etc. Atmosphere in the class was always fantastic, with very dynamic lessons. I wouldn't recommend any other place to study English than The English Language Centre.

Fantastic experience: I started the preparation for my C1 Certificate here. The classes were well organized and the teachers and office took their time to care for your problems and questions. The class itself had a good learning atmosphere. Another point was that I could get extra work if I wanted to which was great. I'd totally recommend the language school if you want to improve your English or take on a Cambridge exam of any level!

Fantastic experience: Before joining this school, I was eager to learn English from native people. In 2018 I had an opportunity to come to the UK so I was looking for the best school available. Because of that, I did an assessment which included many factors such as academic accreditation, registered licensed sponsor, staff, location, diversity and finally the number of students per class. After comparing 3 big names in Reading the best school without any doubts was The English Language Centre in Reading. I am not just saying that because of my assessment which was totally unbiased. I have studied in this school for a whole year which is more than enough to build a comprehensive perception about the school. It was a unique experience. One of the outcomes, I have achieved 6.5 in IELTS from the first go. I have learnt how to write essays and that made a huge difference in my postgraduate study. Cambridge English accredited, the centre offers English language learning programmes for personal improvement and for Cambridge certification, It also offers CELTA for English language teacher training.
