Negative experience: To the Administration of LSI Cambridge language School, I am writing as the parent of a student who attended the 9-week English language course at your institution. I would like to formally express my serious concerns and dissatisfaction regarding the quality of education and support provided to my child during this program. My child enrolled in this course with the clear expectation of beginning at a beginner level. However, despite this, they were placed in a class that was far above their English proficiency level and were required to continue from a point where other students had already progressed. As a result, my child was unable to follow or benefit from the lessons. No appropriate learning materials or textbooks suited to their level were provided, nor were regular homework assignments given. Under these circumstances, the entire 9-week course proved to be ineffective and unproductive. In addition, the academic support provided by the teaching staff was inadequate. When my child informed the teachers that they did not understand the lessons, instead of receiving guidance or additional explanation, they were met with negative reactions and repeatedly told to “focus,” rather than being helped to understand the material. I am also deeply concerned about reports of unprofessional and discriminatory behavior by a teacher named Fidela. My child informed me that female students who arrived late were not allowed to enter the classroom, while male students in the same situation were permitted to do so. Furthermore, despite my child clearly expressing their lack of understanding, this teacher reportedly reacted with anger rather than offering support or clarification. This situation was not only distressing for my child but was also observed and acknowledged by other students. As parents, we chose England with the expectation that our child would receive high-quality English education from native English-speaking teachers in an international learning environment. Being assigned a non-native teacher did not meet our expectations for a school of this nature. To afford this program and the associated tuition fees, our family made significant financial sacrifices in our home country. Unfortunately, at the end of the course, my child did not achieve the expected improvement in English proficiency. Both our financial investment and my child’s time were wasted, and they returned home without a measurable improvement in their language level. This situation has caused my child considerable emotional distress and has also placed them in a difficult position within our family. More importantly, it has negatively affected their future and professional plans. As my child is preparing to enter professional life, insufficient English proficiency may prevent them from meeting the language requirements of airline recruitment examinations, where a strong command of English is essential. Furthermore, when friends and acquaintances have asked for our recommendation regarding language schools, I regret to say that we are unable to recommend your institution. During the same period, other students we know who attended different language schools returned with clear and satisfactory improvements in their English skills, unlike our experience with your school. I respectfully request that this matter be taken seriously, thoroughly reviewed, and that we be informed of any actions or possible resolutions your institution intends to offer in response to this complaint. Fantastic experience: I studied at LSI for four weeks, and the entire experience was absolutely incredible. I stayed with a host family who offered me a cozy, comfortable room, delicious meals, and a warm environment where I truly felt like part of the family. At school, the classes were excellent. The teachers were extremely patient and willing to explain things as many times as needed. They always used different activities and dynamics to make the lessons engaging and never monotonous. The staff members were attentive, responsible, and genuinely friendly. I made many friends there and always felt comfortable expressing myself. I was constantly encouraged to share my thoughts and consider different points of view. My English improved a lot thanks to the quality of the lessons at LSI. The learning materials followed a weekly plan with new topics, which helped me expand my vocabulary in a very effective way. Without a doubt, I was very happy at LSI. I would choose the same exchange experience a million times again! I miss the time I spent there sooooooo much!

Negative experience: I paid in full. Had to pause the program during COVID and later couldn’t attend. They promised to get back to me, ignored my emails, and never refunded me. When I called, I was repeatedly told ‘they’re in a meeting.’ Zero professionalism.

Fantastic experience: I studied at LSI Cambridge for three weeks during my sabbatical year as a teacher, and it was a truly wonderful and meaningful experience. The classes were small, just eight students from all over the world, and we covered speaking, writing, reading and grammar in a friendly and positive atmosphere. The teachers were excellent, always attentive and encouraging, and created a really effective learning environment. The whole school team also deserves a compliment - they were kind, approachable and always ready to help with any problem or request. Most of my classmates were in their twenties, much younger than me, yet they brought great energy and optimism to the classroom. I genuinely looked forward to coming to lessons every morning. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Asla profesyonel olmayan insanların, amatörce yönettiği bir okul! Tamamen zaman ve para kaybı.2.5 ay dil eğitimi için gittim ve 2.5 ayda tam 6 öğretmen değiştirdiler. A2 seviyesiyle başlayıp, B1 seviyesini tamamlayarak bitirdim.1 seviyede tam 6 farklı öğretmenle ders işledim.Kışın kaloriferi bile çalışmayan bir sınıfta donarak ders işledik.Hasta olduk!Antibiyotik kullanmak zorunda kaldım.Defalarca kaloriferi yaptırın dedik,ama asla yaptırmadılar.Konakladığım LSI yurdunda ilaçlarım yurt çalışanı tarafından çöpe atıldı. İlaçlarımı sokak çöpünden bulduk.Kahve makinem ve tüm yiyeceklerim çalındı! Kamera kayıtlarını istediğimde kamera çalışmıyor dediler. Güvenlik sıfır. Şikayet ettim ama çözüm olmadı. Genel şikayet merkezlerine de şikayetimi ilettim ve sonucunu gerçekten merak ediyorum. Her şey insan ve eğitim alma hakkına tamamen aykırıydı! Bir sınıfta tam 6 Türk öğrenciydik,inanılmaz! Kalabalık öğrenci grupları geldiğinde mutfak ve dinlenme alanı diye dedikleri yerde insanlar oturacak yer bulamadıkları için yerlerde oturuyordu.Öğlen yemeklerimizi sınıflarda yemek zorunda kalıyorduk.Paranızla rezil oluyorsunuz. Sebilden su içmek için bardak istediğimizde bardak bile vermeyen garip bir yerdi!Büyük pişmanlık benim için. 1 yıldızı bile hak etmiyorlar. Öğretmenlerden Rachel,Fidela ve okuldan ayrılan Angela hariç, okul gerçekten boş!Eğitim çok kötü.Okulda kantin bile yok.Bazı gruplara mezuniyet düzenlenip,sertifikaları veriliyor, ama bizlere sadece mail olarak göndeceklerini söylediler.Bu tamamen çifte standart. 1 ay olacak döneli ama hala online sertifikamı bile göndermediler.

Negative experience: Hello, I am Abdulaziz. I have been here for seven months. I had a great time and got to know a lot of friends from different countries. My language also developed greatly thanks to the teachers at LSI, but during this period I faced minor problems with the host family. It was difficult to change the family and it took It's been about three months, and in fact, there was a situation that happened to me with Mrs. Ali. She is very wonderful, but I was shocked by what happened. The situation was that there was a simple conversation with the Host family, and the family offered me to pay the housing costs directly for the family, but I don't know whether there is a problem with that or not, and I told the family. We will see about this. We did not agree on anything, and when I went to school, Mrs. Ali came to me angry and called me a liar and threatened to use her authority over me in my new school in the same city. She spoke about me in front of Mrs. Nicola for a long time. After that, I explained that I had not done anything. Only the family offered to me, then Mrs. Ali apologized to me , but I did not expect this from Mrs. Ali because I had a good relationship with her, and I do not think it is professional to talk to an international student in this manner. In the end, Mr. Peter, on my last day, told me that the attendance rate was good and the certificate would be sent to you next week, and after six weeks, I did not receive anything. I visited the institute twice and sent an email to all the employees, and after an effort, they told me that the absence rate was not sufficient. In conclusion, I went to Kaplan school and had an enjoyable time without any problems. They gave me the certificate on the last day. LSI school is okay, but definitely not the best.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience of my life in 2017

Negative experience: A complete disappointment for me. The lessons are not in a certain order and do not follow any particular book. They also do not have an online platform to work from home. Also, if you are 15 minutes late, you will not be admitted to class. Since the two courses are combined, you cannot take both courses at the same time. I had to stay late every morning because I had to drop my son off at school. It was a terrible 4 weeks for me. Definitely stay away. Now I started at St Giles language school and they met all my expectations. There is an online course and it follows a certain order from Cambridge publications.

Positive experience: J'ai eu une plutôt bonne expérience dans cette école à Cambridge ! Les 3 étoiles vont en premier lieu pour ma professeur Josephine qui a été parfaite pendant ces 2 semaines. Ses cours sont agréables, bien fondés et dynamiques ! Les cours de l'après midi étaient malheureusement beaucoup moins entraînants mais je suis sûre que cela dépend vraiment du professeur...

Fantastic experience: I really had a great time at LSI even if only for two weeks. Which passed far too quickly. The school is small but very nice. All the teachers are very friendly and focused on everyone individually. We were sometimes 6 and sometimes 9 students in a class, so it was perfect to improve your English. I was more than lucky with my host family, they are a family where I felt at home. I will definitely come back and visit everyone, my 2nd family but also LSI in Cambridge. Thank you for a great time at school, with the family and also in Cambridge. The city is perfect for improving your English and definitely for planning weekend excursions from there. Fantastic experience: Best experience of my life ! I stayed 2 months in cambridge everything was great ! The organization to come there was perfect ! In the school teachers are amazing very friendly with a good mood and lots of ideas to learn english ! I took the afternoon lesson in order to pass my IELTS exam and I succeeded with my score! I lived in the LSI residence where i met great people, it was a pleasure to share the house with them. The city is very cute and we can find everything approximation of the school ! Shops, pub, monuments, and lots of public transportation like a bus. So, if you want having fun, learning english, meet amazing people of all over the world I recommend this place at 100%

Negative experience: I registered for one week business English class from an online agent. The communication was not very good and i thought that starting on Tuesday and I could finish next Monday. It turned out that I had to finish it on Friday, meaning that I paid one more day fees without being able to attend the class. It is a rolling class and they just have this strange rule. Meanwhile, the teacher didn't stick to any guideline and just handed out materials randomly for discussion. We learnt 3rd conditionals and students had some questions about 2nd conditionals and the teacher didn't know. Anyway, I would not recommend anyone interested in business English to learn here.

Fantastic experience: Scuola d'inglese afferente al British Council con sedi a Londra, Stati Uniti, Australia, Francia e altri parti del mondo. La durata dei corsi è a libera scelta dello studente, dalle due settimane a qualche mese. Persone provenienti da differenti parti del mondo con esigenze diverse s'incontrano qui per imparare dialogando e facendo attività insieme. Pur vantando un buon numero di studenti, non è una grande industria di massa come altre scuole più note. L'ambiente è discretamente familiare e lo staff si ricorda di ciascun allievo. Vengono organizzate gite in collaborazione con l'agenzia di viaggi Travel Sight, a cui afferiscono anche altre scuole della città.

Negative experience: He estado durante cinco semanas en LSI Cambridge. No ha sido lo que yo me esperaba. Problemas con el alojamiento familiar que me asignaron. Muy lejos de la Escuela y otras circunstancias. La residencia a la que me trasladaron tampoco disponía de buenas condiciones. La escuela es totalmente diferente a lo que aparece en internet, un poco antigua y nada de ordenadores en las clases. Actividades sociales durante mi estancia, ninguna... Los cursos no son lo esperado, no hay un planteamiento, conforme van llegando los alumnos van a una clase de acuerdo al nivel y se van uniendo a lo ya iniciado. Trato poco directo personal-alumnos. No hace falta ir a Cambridge para hacer un curso de estas características. No lo recomiendo para nada.

Fantastic experience: I'm an Italian student and I'm attending an Upper - Intermediate English course. When I started my level was almost elementery, especially for speacking and grammar. Now close to the end of my attendance I can see a considerabile improvement which allows me to comunicate better during my daily life and to understand more clearly. LSI helped me to became more self-confident with my English and I am really satisfied with my achivements. In LSI I spent amazing moments. I met a lot of new good friends with whome I shared brilliant experiences in Cambridge. I learned also different interesting thinks about others cultures. I recommend LSI to everyone.
